“Moldova Concert” will be reorganised into a state impresario agency

In compliance wit a recent Government decision, “Moldova Concert” State Enterprise will be split into two institutions: one bearing a similar name, and a State Impresario Agency. The Impresario Agency will operate on a self-financing basis. The Government hopes this way “to resume the cultural activities in the country by cooperating with local authorities, to revive the tours of theatre troupes, to attract troupes from other countries in the tours, to organise national and international art festivals”. According to Minister of Culture and Tourism Miron Cosma the situation in the field has been disordered for many years. In fact, only Chisinau is now enjoying a cultural-artistic life, says the minister. The impresario activity is in the majority of cases uncontrolled, and impresarios often do not even respect royalties and overexploit artists’ work and talent. At present, says the minister, that the artistic troupes “Joc”, “Fluieras”, “Mugurel”, “Lautarii”, “Folclor”, music band “Doina”, who were previously promoting our national culture in the world do not have the possibility to tour even in Moldova.
