Moldova's ambitions to develop foreign businesses and to attract foreign investments are based on a friendly fiscal system for the business environment and on an unprecedented openness to create transparent business relations with global partners. The Director of Moldova's Investment Agency, Rodica Verbeniuc, said at the opening ceremony of the international economic forum "Moldova Business Week" that Moldova is committed to promote an open economic policy, to increase its efforts for regional integration and to become a more attractive and competitive market.

According to Rodica Verbeniuc, economic growth is a must for a developing society, while attracting quality investments is a strategic priority for Moldova.

The Minister of Economy and Infrastructure, Vadim Brînzan, said that in an economy that provides high value products and services, labor and a good business environment for investors is very important. In order to achieve this, justice reform must be completed, while a business environment free of corruption must be established.

According to Peter Michalko, EU ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, it is critical that the authorities' efforts are oriented towards the development of a sustainable economy, based on infrastructure investments. Additionally, it is critical that food safety reforms be implemented as quickly as possible in order to allow local producers to export high added value animal products. Another area that needs attention is waste management, said the head of the EU Delegation.

United States Ambassador to the Republic of Moldova, Dereck Hogan, said that, despite the regrettable dismissal of the government, the US will continue to urge elected Moldovan officials to invest more effort in order to secure a fair, democratic and prosperous future for all citizens of Moldova. He added that "Moldovans need leaders focused on the good of the country and who strive to free the country of corruption, a phenomenon that has prevented Moldova from reaching a higher potential".

Over 1500 entrepreneurs, investors, importers and exporters from the Republic of Moldova and 24 other countries take part in Moldova Business Week 2019, which takes place in Chișinău between November 13 and 16.
