Moldova, Belarus could abolish roaming charges

The Republic of Moldova and the Republic of Belarus could eliminate roaming charges. The subject was discussed by Prime Minister Pavel Filip and the President of Belarus Alexandr Lukashenko in a meeting in Minsk on November 1. The issue is to be debated on the platform of the mixed intergovernmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, IPN reports.

According to the Government’s press service, Pavel Filip and Alexandr Lukashenko discussed the launch of the direct Chisinau – Minsk flight that is expected to be profitable and to stimulate commercial exchanges and tourism, sand considered the possibility of founding an electric bus assembly company in Chisinau and of extending the project to assemble trolleybuses.

The interlocutors also raised the rise in export duties on bottled Moldovan wine and explored the possibility of opening a Trade House of Moldova in Minsk that would promote Moldovan wines.

Belarusian entrepreneurs expressed interest in taking part in road repair in Moldova. The Development Bank of the Republic of Belarus could lend money for implementing such infrastructure projects.
