The national football team of Moldova was defeated by Scotland 0-2 in the qualifying competition of the 2022 Wolrd Cup. The goals were scored by Nathan Patterson (min. 38th) and Che Adams (65th), IPN reports.
In the 83rd minute, Vadim Rață missed a penalty kick. Moldova can no longer avoid the last place in Group F with only one point.
“I liked the first part of the game when we had two good occasions for scoring through Artur Ioniță. In the second part of the game, we missed a penalty. We should not forget that we had a tough opponent,” said Moldova manager Roberto Bordin.
The Italian coach used the following players: Namashko, Bolohan (Rozgoniuc 62nd), Jardan, Posmac, Marandici (Iosipoi 71st), Revenco, Ioniță (c), Gînsari (Cojocaru 61st), Rață, Dros (Bogaciuc 61st), Nicolaescu (Puntus 71st).
Moldova plays the last match of the group on November 15 away against Austria. Rață and Marandici were suspended and will be absent.
