The national selection for the 55th Eurovision Song Contest will be titled “A Song for Europe!”, Info-Prim Neo reports. Given the global financial crisis, when a large number of European public TV channels cut costs and refuse to participate in the contest, Moldova on December 14 confirmed it will send a representative to the next Eurovision that will take place in the Norwegian capital of Oslo between May 25 and 29. The songs for the national selection can be submitted by January 8. Vitalie Cojocaru, a representative of Teleradio-Moldova, said the national selection this year is designed to be accessible to all the categories of musicians and singers. Thus, collaborations with foreign signers are admitted. The national selection will have two stages. At the first stage, a jury constituted according to the recommendations of the creation unions will select 25 singers and bands. The second stage will include a concert that will be broadcast live on Moldova 1 and Moldova International channels, where Moldova’s representative at Eurovision 2010 will be selected. The application forms and audio materials must be submitted to the Eurovision 2009 Collection Center situated at 1 Miorita St, the Radio House. The Center will work by January 8, 2010, 18.00. The general partner of the national selection is the mobile-phone carrier Orange.
