Representatives of the Governments of Moldova and Armenia signed agreements of cooperation in agriculture and the cultural sphere in Chisinau on July 11. The accords were signed in the presence of President Nicolae Timofti and his Armenian counterpart Serzh Sargsyan, who came to Chisinau to take part in the third European People’s Party Summit of heads of state and government of the EaP member states, IPN reports.
Nicolae Timofti underlined the importance of establishing a permanent political dialogue for experience exchange between the two Eastern Partnership member states. He approved of the logistic and financial support provided by the western partners to Moldova, which enabled the country to make progress on the path to European integration.
Nicolae Timofti and Serzh Sargsyan reiterated their countries’ interest in developing bilateral trade. The Moldovan President said the authorities are implementing the reforms needed to ensure an attractive climate for foreign investors.
The President of Armenia asked ensuring the necessary conditions for the Armenian Diaspora in Moldova to be able to express their ethnical identity. Serzh Sargsyan invited Nicolae Timofti to pay an official visit to Armenia and the invitation was accepted.
