New relations of cooperation are planned to be established at the Moldovan-Belarusian business forum that is taking place today, October 3, in Chisinau. The event involves over 70 representatives of Moldovan small businesses and more than 35 Belarusian companies, IPN reports.
Prime Minister Pavel Filip, who took part in the opening of the event, said the bilateral economic relations develop dynamically. All the economic cooperation initiatives will be supported by using all the available platforms. “The Republic of Moldova is interested in implementing new projects with prospects and in supporting the existing ones such as the joint assembly of tractors, trolleybuses and buses,” he stated.
The Premier invited the Belarusian businessmen to invest in the Free Economic Zones of Moldova and to take part in the privatization of a number of state-owned companies.
The Prime Minister of Belarus Andrei Kobyakov said the visit by Belarusian businessmen to Moldova shows that the two countries are switching over to a new stage of the commercial relations. Over 60 bilateral agreements were signed by Moldova and Belarus in different areas. Belarus is among the top ten trading partners of Moldova.
Andrei Kobyakov said that despite the difficult situation in the region, trade between the two countries increased by 10% during the first seven month of this year and this trend should be maintained. “The Government of Belarus is open to your offers,” he stated.
The Belarusian official is paying a two-day visit to Moldova.
