Moldova and Armenia will intensify the exchange of goods. Such an agreement was reached by Prime Minister Iurie Leanca and the President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan in a meeting held on the sideline of the European People’s Party Summit of heads of state and government of the Eastern Partnership member states, IPN has learned from the Government’s press service.
An intergovernmental commercial-economic commission will work to step up trade. “We are interested in improving the relations with Armenia, including at economic level. There is a potential between the two countries that should be developed. I’m sure that both of the countries will only gain from this,” said the Premier.
Iurie Leanca spoke about the development projects implemented in Moldova, regional policies and the European integration process. He expressed Moldova’s readiness to share its experience in negotiating a liberalized visa regime with the EU.
For his part, President Serzh Sargsyan said that Armenia is ready to strengthen the relations with Moldova and invited Iurie Leanca to pay a visit to Yerevan. The Premier accepted the invitation.
The third European People’s Party Summit of heads of state and government of the EaP member states is taking place in Chisinau on July 11.
