Mobile phone carrier Moldcell launched two new services – BlackBerry Internet and BlackBerry Enterprise Solution on January 13. The services enable the clients, especially the businesspeople, to go out of the office anytime and not remain stuck in front of the computer, Info-Prim Neo reports.
The commercial launch took place at the end of last year, but the launch ceremony was timed to coincide with the launch of two mobile phones supporting such technology – BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Strom 9500.
“Our clients must benefit from the most modern mobile technology. We are among the first operators in the family of members of TeliaSonera that provide the whole set of BlackBerry services,” Chiril Gaburici, the director general of Moldcell, said during a news conference.
Moldcell is the fourth operator after Turkcell, Azercell and Geocell that furnishes such services. The two mobile phones support the 3.5G technology and are like pocket laptops. More than 21 million people use such services worldwide.
Sources in the company said that over 70% of the available mobile phones had been sold during five days of the new year. BlackBerry Curve 8900 and BlackBerry Strom 9500 can be bought at special prices after signing a subscription contract valid for a year.
BlackBerry Internet allows the clients to use up to 10 e-mail accounts in one mobile phone, deliver emails instantly, and work with the personal and corporate email directly.
BlackBerry Enterprise includes the BlackBerry Internet service and enables instant access to all contacts and business calendar.
Both of the services ensure maximum confidentiality.
Moldcell entered Moldova's telecommunications market on April 28, 2000, Info-Prim Neo reports.
