Workers of the cardboard company Moldcarton Wednesday protested in front of the Government, demanding that the executive help them solve their salary-related problems and get their jobs back, Info-Prim Neo reports.
Leonid Moscariuc, who worked as a locksmith at the company during seven years, said he did not receive his pay for six months. Last November, he was fired. When he worked for Moldcarton he lived in Chisinau. Now he lives in Ungheni and has to travel to Chisinau from the town to demand his salary.
Profir Ceban, another dismissed worker, said he has not been paid a salary since December 2009. The arrears amount to over 50,000 lei.
Alexandru Tabarcea, who was sent on forced leave, demands that he be reinstated.
After about two hours of protest, the head of the company's trade union committee Gheorghe Rusu was called in the Government. He spoke with the Premier's adviser and then told his colleagues he was assured that the Government will get involved. In several days, there will be set up a working commission that will examine the situation. Gheorghe Rusu said that if no steps are taken to clear the salary arrears, the workers will put up tents and protest nonstop.
