Moldavskaya GRES, the operator of the Kuchurgan power plant, received a new license for electricity production for a period of another six months, due to the expiry of the previous license, which had been granted by ANRE on July 1, 2010, the regulatory agency said in a press release.
ANRE has been issuing licenses to Moldavskaya GRES since 2006, under a decision of the Moldovan Government on the regulation of goods and services exported by the Transnistrian region, which allows the companies based in that region and preliminary registered in Moldova's State Register to obtain licenses for specific activities.
There are a total of 244 licenses available in the energy sector, 19 of which are for activities in the electricity market, 58 in the gas market, and 167 in the petroleum products market.
