The State Administration of Civil Aviation (ASAC) intends to liberalize the prices, to improve the security level in conformity with the last international requirements and to adhere to the international legislation regarding these activities. The stipulations are part of a strategy project for the development of the aeronautical branch in the Republic of Moldova for a period of 10 years.
The general director of ASAC, Valentin Vizant, declared on Monday at a press conference that the necessity to elaborate such a strategy is dictated by the implementation of the Moldova-EU action plan and by the need to solve the present problems of the sector. Vizant mentioned that during the next years, ASAC wants to stimulate development projects of the aeronautic companies, to improve the concurrence of the local operators, to diminish the monopolist activities from the branch, to develop more types of partnership with the international aviation community in order to use the world experience in the production and management fields and to purchase modern technologies.
The quoted source mentioned that in the future the companies from the country are to present development plans and, depending on the financial necessities, will be evaluated the financial value of the Strategy and of the modernisation necessities. In case the Government will not have sufficient funds for the strategy it has to find other solutions, inclusively to support foreign investments.
At present, primordially, is necessary to supply the flying stock with
New transport units, especially with 80 and 100 seats, depending on the capacity of the local flying market, added the quoted source. Vizant stated those 200 airships of the Company are old. This fact doesn’t mean the security of the passengers is not ensured, because the flights are taken by airships that correspond to present technical requirements.
Valentin Vizant mentioned that a fast implementation of the strategic stipulations will lead to increasing the attractivity of those 15 Moldavian air companies; otherwise they could lose their clients. He also said that the Moldavian aeronautic market grows every year. In the last year 480 thousand passengers have been transported and that is a 25 thousand growth comparing to the last year. The Moldavian companies hold at present 75% of the market.
The leadership of ASAV presented to the public the development strategy on www.caa.md - the site of the organization and hopes the representatives of air companies and of the civil society will present proposals to improve the project.
