Modifications of the electricity invoice expected

Mayoralty of Chisinau municipality examines together with the Government the possibility to include the costs for lift electric power consumption and block illumination in the electricity invoice for every apartment apart. Interim mayor Vasile Ursu said at the operative meeting of the mayoralty that these modifications are needed in order to change inhabitants’ attitude, not willing to pay for these services. Even now the current payments for lift services and block illumination are paid at a rate of about 90%, Vasile Ursu mentioned that “Union Fenosa” pays the attention on great historical debts. „Union Fenosa” Company, the power supplier, will install in every apartment block counters for lift and stairs apart, Ursu noted. He highlighted that the population that pay for these services require their installment. The new way of registering complies with the intentions of local authorities to stop the practices of certain administrators to calculate higher electric power consumption, to the prejudice of inhabitants, the mayor considers. In case of implementing the new regulations, the beneficiaries do not pay the costs for lift and block illumination, the supplier has the right to switch off the debtors, Vasile Ursu mentioned. At the moment, the administrators of the flat owners associations (APLP, IMGFL and CCL) have debts to electric power supplier about 18,5 million lei for electric power consumption in common places (for block illumination and lift services).
