The Leova District Hospital was outfitted with precision medical supplies purchased with Japanese funds as part of the Grant Assistance for Grassroots Human Security Projects Scheme “Kusanone”. The value of the donation is over US$ 84,000.

Contacted by IPN, the hospital’s director Andrei Malashevski said there were donated five monitors for monitoring vital functions, video fibro-gastroscopy equipment and an immunology analyzer. The hospital was also donated an electrocardiograph and a spirograph purchased with Japanese funds.

According to Andrei Malashevski, the medical equipment allows the diagnosis, laboratory investigations and imagistic services to be more precise. “The equipment started already to be used and the number of patients rose from 70-80 to 120 a day,” stated the director.

The new devices will strengthen the hospital’s capacity to provide high-quality medical equipment and treat gastroenterological, cardiovascular and pulmonary diseases and to diagnose oncological diseases.
