Deputy mayor of Chisinau Inga Ionesii said the model menus approved for education institutions are not respected for at least two reasons. On the one hand, the money allocated for alimentation is not enough. On the other hand, the personnel are unqualified, IPN reports.
“We spoke during the year that the costs for alimentation should be increased. The City Hall made the necessary contribution and the Government, the Ministry of Finance are to also take a relevant decision as the sums for alimentation now simply do not cover the necessary costs. We want food of a high quality, but allocate only 7-8 lei for breakfast and 13 or 18 lei for lunch,” Inga Ionesii stated in the ordinary meeting of officials of municipal services.
According to the official, the second problem is related to the salaries of employees, which are of only 2,000-3,000 lei. In such conditions, the people do not want to work and there is no qualified staff.
The deputy mayor noted a relevant decision was drafted and is to be proposed to the Chisinau Municipal Council for approval. It goes to a feasibility study that will be carried out during a month. Later, there will be proposed several scenarios for improving the situation concerning alimentation in schools.
Inga Ionesii also said that inspections will be carried out in schools stating with this week. A relevant document will be issued after each inspection and a report covering the whole city will be produced later.
