Two mobile units for vaccination against the novel coronavirus were launched in Chisinau. These are a trolleybus and a bus that were outfitted to ensure the immunization of all those who want from the city and from its suburban settlements, near the domicile or workplace. So that the people recognize the two units of transport, stickers with messages in support of the COVID-19 vaccination campaign were placed on their exterior, IPN reports.
In the launch held in the central square of Chisinau, mayor general Ion Ceban said the project is aimed at raising the population’s awareness of the necessity of getting immunized. The trolleybus will run according to an agreed timetable in all the districts of the capital city, while the bus will run in the suburban settlements. Those who want to be vaccinated need only the identity card. Initially, there will be administered AstraZeneca and Pfizer vaccines, depending on the available supplies.
Deputy head of the Chisinau Health Division Boris Gîlcă said this is an innovative and long-lasting project. The trolleybus on May 26 will remain in the central square, while the bus will leave for Durlești. The two units of transport will be daily available at the agreed addresses between 10am and 6pm. The medical teams were trained and have all the necessary equipment.
The persons who will be administered the first dose will be issued a certificate showing the date when they need to get the second dose, which will be possible in the same place. As multiple requests came from the citizens, the mobile vaccination point that worked at the Central Market will be reopened on May 27. This will work on Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 10am and 3pm.
