A mobile team of the Municipal Youth Center will tour public spaces in Chisinau, including the suburbs, to inform teenagers about the activities and programs implemented by the Center and its branches. 15 electric scooters were purchased for youth workers and young volunteers to facilitate their movement.
Petru Grecu, director of the Municipal Youth Center, said that by the end of the year the team will visit more than 135 neighborhoods, public spaces, parks in Chisinau, as well as in the suburbs, where there are no youth centers. “One of the problems that young people face is the information part, and we aim to solve this challenge and we go to inform them about the opportunities they have. Especially since we also have youth centers where they can spend their pastime, volunteer, develop personally and participate in all our activities. Another event we are proud of is the launch of the first e-youth application shortly. It’s a new platform through which we will inform young people about the opportunities they have in Chisinau”, said Grecu.
Andrei Pavaloi, Deputy Head of Education, Youth and Sports, said that the mobile team will arrive in the block yards, in park areas where teenagers spend their time. “During the summer, it will be much easier to communicate with these young people, to communicate our programs to them, to do activities with them in the parks, where it is very beautiful”, said Pavaloi.
In 2022, with the support of UNICEF Moldova, a car was purchased with which the Youth Centers team travels to provide services to young people and hold outdoor activities.
