The volume of voice traffic on the mobile phone services market in the first nine months of this year decreased by 28.2 million minutes (-0.6%) compared with the corresponding period last year, to 4.6 billion minutes. According to the National Regulatory Agency for Electronic Communications and Information Technology, the number of users fell by over 96,000 (-2.2%) on 2017, to 4.3 million, IPN reports.
The average monthly volume of minutes spoken by an user in the period was 271 minutes.
The revenues on this market declined by over 147 million lei (-5.8%) to 2.3 billion lei. The average monthly revenue per user was 72.9 lei.
The diminution of the total number of mobile phone users was due to the reduction in the number of customers of Moldcell și Orange. The first mobile phone carrier saw a decrease of 54,500 (-3.7%) in the number of its clients, to 1.4 million. The number of clients of the second carrier fell by 48,700 (-1.9%) to 2.5 million. The subscribers of Moldtelecom-Unite grew in number by 7,100 (+1.9%) to 382,400.
