Mobiasbanca robber sentenced to 15 years in prison

The man who robbed an outlet of the bank Mobiasbanca in April 2008 was sentenced to 15 years' imprisonment by the Botanica District Court, Info-Prim Neo reports. In pronouncing the sentence, the court took into account that the robber threatened the lives of police officers and that he illegally owned firearms and munitions. The prosecutors managed to prove that on April 17, 2008 the defendant entered Mobiasbanca's subsidiary no.4, where he fired a shot into the air from an AK-47 rifle and ordered a clerk to give him all the money. Three days later the suspect was found, but he resisted the arrest and threw a grenade at his pursuers. He was finally arrested a week later. The man robbed the bank of $1,900, 1,950 euros, 2,000 Russian rubles and 82,995 lei.
