Two minors aged 15 and 16 are investigated for stealing a car from the yard of an apartment building located on Alecu Russo St of Chisinau as well as things from another vehicle, IPN reports.
According to the Chisinau Police Division, the miners, who live in Ialoveni and Chisinau, stole the car by matching keys. The owner alerted the police in the morning, when he saw that the vehicle was missing. Afterward, the police found the car abandoned on Independentei St in Botanica district.
The police started two criminal cases over car theft and stealing of things from car. As the suspects are minors, they are investigated outside jail. Earlier, they were investigated for street offences and burglary. They face a fine of 10,000 to 20,000 lei or one to three years in jail.
The National Patrolling Inspectorate recommends motor vehicle owners to outfit their cars with sensor alarm systems on windows and hood and to check if the vehicle’s windows and doors are closed. At night, the vehicles should be parked in specially set up and lit places. No valuable things such as bags, wallets, identity cards, credit cards, mobile phones and audio and video equipment should be left in the car in sight.
