The 16-year-old teen from Costești village of Ialoveni district is investigated as a suspect in the case of beating to death of Dumitru Jomir, 21, on the night of January 1. He was placed in remand detention, IPN reports, quoting the Prosecutor General’s Office.
The 21-year-old man, who is the main suspect in this case, was placed under arrest for 30 days and the count on which he was initially accused was changed. Before the death of the victim, he faced 10 to 12 years in jail for intentionally causing serious bodily injuries. Now that the victim died, he faces 12 to 15 years behind bars for intentionally causing serious bodily injuries and three to seven years in jail for hooliganism.
The minor was also charged. He is accused of intentionally causing serious bodily injuries that resulted in death and faces 12 to 15 years in prison. The judges allowed placing him under arrest for 30 days.
Preliminarily, it was established that Dumitru Jomir died as a result of a severe head injury. A medical-legal examination will be carried out to find out the exact cause of death.
