Moldovan youth nongovernmental organizations can apply for financing for projects intended for the youth within the Ministry of Youth and Sport’s Grants Program 2017. The financing is intended for projects that will have an impact on youth policy at the local and regional levels and will center on four priorities: youth participation, services for the youth, economic opportunities for the youth and consolidation of the youth sector, IPN reports.

In a news conference, Minister of Youth and Sport Victor Zubcu said the budget of the Grants Program for this year is 4 million lei, up 500,000 lei more on last year. The projects that will be implemented at local/regional levels will get sums of 70,000 to 200,000 lei, while the national/international ones – between 100,000 and 350,000 lei. The projects must not be longer than ten months and must be completed by this December.

The projects can cover such activities as campaigns, courses, congresses, etc.

“The Grants Program is an element that embraces everything that commitments in the youth sector means. We expect we will have more applicants this year so that there are more high-quality and effective projects,” stated Victor Zubcu. According to the minister, there are many projects that became classical, ensuring continuity and results in time.

Victor Zubcu also said the applications will be examined by a commission of the Ministry of Youth and Sport within a month.

In 2016, the Grants Program attracted 77 projects and 22 of these got financing.

Applications can be submitted to the Chancellery of the Ministry of Youth and Sport located at 162 Stefan Cel Mare Blvd in Chisinau by February 13, 2017. Other details can be obtained on the phone number 022 820-864 or through the email address tineret@mts.gov.md
