The Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure will be dissolved and the Ministry of Economy and Trade will take over it functions. The Government made such a decision at its Wednesday’s meeting, Info-Prim Neo reports. The bill for amending the Law on the Government was presented by the deputy head of the executive’s apparatus Oleg Rotaru, who said that the dissolution of the ministry forms part of the central public administration reform. Deputy Minister of Justice Nicolae Esanu requested six months instead of three, as it is usually allotted in other cases, for tabling the bill to the Parliament for adoption. He argued that the three-month term is too short for having it approved by the Government and for subjecting it to the anticorruption examination. Later, Oleg Rotaru told the reporters that this year they will implement a number of projects designed to improve the activity of the Government’s administrative system, to delimit the functions between the ministries and other central administration authorities and to strengthen the management mechanism in the domains in charge. After the Parliament adopts this bill, the Government will approve decisions that will stipulate the instruments and mechanisms for dividing the patrimony and for taking over the functions and personnel of the Ministry of Industry and Infrastructure. Oleg Rotaru said that a bill on the central public administration is now being worked out. It will establish the legal status of every ministry and central public institution, their functions, place and role in the central administration system. The functions of every central public institution will be distributed and only then it will become clear how many institutions of the kind are needed in Moldova, Rotarus said.
