Special rooms were fit in the hospitals and infection diseases sections of Moldova in case of avian pandemic flu. The rooms are provided with antiviral drugs, individual protection equipment and sufficient quantities necessary for hospitalization of patients with bird flu, the deputy minister of health and social protection, Boris Golovin, announced about this. According to the deputy minister, there were created mobile squads with individual protection equipment, disinfectants and other materials, and their staff was trained for bird flu prophylaxis and treatment in humans. At the same time, 15,000 dozes of antiviral drug Oseltavimir are stocked at the Hospital of Infection Diseases „Toma Ciorba”. The medicine is used for prophylaxis and treatment of bird flu in humans. Deputy minister Boris Golovin informed about the made preparations, and gave answers to different questions regarding the presence or lack of the virus H5N1 in Moldova. The official noted that till now, no case of bird flu to birds, animals and human was registered in RM. The deputy minister shares the opinion that appearance of the virus in Romania and Ukraine is a great risk for Moldova, but it does not mean its appearance in RM as well. Referring to the punishment for concealing the information regarding the appearance or existence of bird flu, Boris Golovin mentioned that this offence imposes disciplinary, administrative, civil or even penal proceedings.
