The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration of Moldova recommends the citizens to refrain from unessential trips to Ukraine and urges those who are already on the territory of the neighboring state to assess the necessity of remaining in this country. The recommendation was made in connection with the security developments near Ukraine and the intentions of airlines to no longer operate flights to/from Ukraine, IPN reports, quoting a press release of the Ministry.

The institution recommends the Moldovans not to travel to the eastern regions of Ukraine and to adjust the trips depending on the security situation in the area and the announcements of the Ukrainians authorities.

If the Moldovan citizens remain on the territory of Ukraine, they are urged to show prudence when they plan their trips and to avoid areas in which events involving a large number of persons take place. The Moldovans must have valid travel documents and sufficient financial resources so as to be able to leave Ukraine.

The Ministry continues to attentively analyze the security situation. This way, the Embassy in Kiev and the consular office in Odessa remain operational and provide assistance and consular protection to the citizens who are in Ukraine. In this connection, the citizens are recommended to regularly examine the travel alerts issued by the Ministry, including on the Telegram channel, or to contact the Embassy of Moldova in Kiev, the Consular Office of the Republic of Moldova in Odessa or the Ministry’s Call Center
