The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration issued a statement to strongly condemn the latest brutal missile strikes by the Russian Federation on Ukraine. According to the MFAIE, these unjustified actions are causing dramatic consequences in Ukraine, leaving people without electricity, heat and, in some cases, water supply.
“The diplomatic missions of the Republic of Moldova in Ukraine are carefully monitoring the evolution of the security situation. We recall that Moldovan citizens in Ukraine can contact the embassy in Kyiv or the consulate in Odesa for specialized consular assistance in case of any exceptional situation”, reads a comment by MAEIE spokesperson Daniel Vodă.
The Ministry notes that today’s attacks are yet another proof of unacceptable aggression on critical Ukrainian civilian targets, which also affects the Republic of Moldova.
Meanwhile, after the border police discovered parts of a missile in an orchard near the border with Ukraine, the Ministry of Internal Affairs informs that there is no risk for civilians, as the perimeter of the incident has been cordoned off. Explosives and ordnance experts have been called to the site to inspect the objects and render them safe if necessary.
