Minister Talvar's statement in the context of discussions on the possibility of Romania defending Moldova's airspace

The Republic of Moldova and Romania are cooperating in the military field, but with respect for the assumed state of neutrality. The statement was made by Bucharest's National Defense Minister Angel Talvar in the context of talks on the possibility of Romania defending Moldova's airspace from Russian drones and missiles, IPN reports.

"Moldova is a militarily neutral country. We have bilateral cooperation with Moldova for reasons related to our closeness to the country," the Romanian official said.

The Romanian official also told Agerpres that the Romanian state has always stood by the citizens of the Republic of Moldova.

"Romania was actively involved during the period when Moldova, because of the war in Ukraine, was affected in terms of energy and economically, Romania having an important contribution from the economic point of view to the smooth and normal life in the Republic of Moldova," concluded the Minister of National Defense in Bucharest, Angel Talvar.
