Minister of Justice asks to delegate members to work on National Integrity Council

Minister of Justice Vladimir Cebotari on August 3 sent a letter to the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova, the Superior Council of Magistracy and the Superior Council of Prosecutors by which it requests to delegate by a representative to work on the National Integrity Council, IPN reports.

The authority is created by reorganizing the National Integrity Commission and is its lawful successor. Its members are named of a five-year term and can be recalled by the entity that designated them.

The Council consists of seven members – by a representative of Parliament, the Government, the Superior Council of Magistracy, the Superior Council of Prosecutors and the Congress of Local Authorities of Moldova and two persons on behalf of civil society.

The candidates for member of the Integrity Council must have Moldovan nationality and higher education, must not have a criminal record and must not have formed part of a political party during the last two years.
