Minister of Agriculture and Food Industry Eduard Grama on March 15 was placed under arrest for 72 hours. He is charged with acts of corruption, Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office chief Viorel Morari stated in a press briefing.
Viorel Morari said that a criminal case over appropriation of property of the Chisinau College of Winegrowing and Winemaking was started at the beginning of 2016. The case was sent to court. It was established that business entities in the 1990s misappropriated property of the College using false documents. More criminal cases were started later based on new evidence. Persons holding responsible posts at the Ministry of Agriculture are suspected of contributing to the dispossession of the College of land.
Eduard Grama is suspected of receiving money for taking measures to transfer 9.9 hectares belonging to the College of Winegrowing and Winemaking to a business entity based in Stauceni.
