Starting with May 1, 2016, the minimum guaranteed salary at enterprises, organizations and institutions with financial autonomy, regardless of the form of ownership, will be 2,100 lei, up from 1,900 lei. The Cabinet on April 20 approved a decision to modify the minimum guaranteed salary in the real sector of the economy, IPN reports.
The decision was taken following the rise in the consumer price index and in labor productivity at national level.
The Cabinet also approved a legislative initiative to supplement the Law on the Salary System in the Budget-Funded Sector. Thus, the salaries of some categories of archive employees, who get less than 1,500 lei a month, will be raised by 20%.
An additional sum of 128,520 lei will be annually allocated from the state budget for covering the related costs. The bill will take effect after it is examined and adopted by Parliament.
