Ten persons travelling by two minibuses, one of which carried Moldovans, were involved in an accident on the DN 17 Bistrita – Cluj road in Romania on June 23. The Bistrita-Nasaud Inspectorate for Emergencies declared a red intervention code, IPN reports, quoting Mediafax.
The accident happened at a turn in Sintereag village. The two minibuses, one of which was a freight one and the other a passenger one, collided head-on.
“The Bistrita Inspectorate for Emergencies instituted a red intervention code. The rescuers found at the scene ten victims, two of whom were confined. These were the drivers of the two minibuses. They were taken out by military firemen in about 25 minutes. The ten victims were examined medically. Three were taken to the hospital, two in Bistrita and one in Beclean. The other seven refused to be taken to the hospital,” said the Inspectorate’s spokesman Marius Rus.
In a press release, the Bistrita County Emergency Hospital says two victims of the traffic accident that occurred in Sintereag were taken to the local Emergency Admissions Unit. They were both diagnosed with multiple contusions.
The minibus with passengers from Moldova was heading for Paris. The driver of the freight minibus said he was moving legally when the other minibus struck his vehicle. After the accident, five of the passengers who were going to Paris continued their way by a bus.
