As from next year, the method of distributing the mineral resource extraction charge will be modified. 50% of the charge will be transferred to the local budget of the first level, while 50% to the local budget of the second level, as the draft budgetary-fiscal policy for 2023 that was presented for public consultations stipulates, IPN reports.

Currently, the mineral extraction charge is fully paid into the local budget of the second level.

The draft budgetary-fiscal policy for next year suggests that the allocations for the infrastructure of local public roads should be transferred to the local budgets of the first level as general allocations (in absolute amount and definitively), with the possibility of amassing this money for large infrastructure projects.

The Ministry of Finance said the conditionality of using the money will be kept for the local budget of the second level and money will be further allocated as special purpose transfers.
