Milsami Orhei was beaten 0-3 at home by Saint-Etienne France in a match of the third qualifying round of Europa League. The same result in favor of the French time was scored a week ago, IPN reports.
Halfback Franck Tabanou was the author of three goal passes to Brandao, Hamouma and Nicolita. At the end of the game, Milsami was close to scoring the goal of honor, but Adil Rhaili and Artur Patras failed even if they had good positions.
“The holiday is over. It’s a pity we scored no goal. I’m glad that we reached this phase of the competition. We gained experience. We must make progress,” said Milsami coach Stefan Stoica.
“We showed that we had a serious attitude to the opponent. I’m satisfied that we scored a total of six goals and gained thus qualification,” said the coach of Saint-Etienne Christophe Galtier.
As a result of this defeat, Milsami left the European cups. In the first qualifying round, Milsami eliminated Dudelange Luxemburg and Shakhtyor Soligorsk, Belarus. Moldova now remained with only one representative in the Europa League. Sheriff Tiraspol on August 9 will find out its opponent in the playoffs.
