A Government report regarding the enrolment in military service states that the enrolment in the armed forces in spring 2006 registered an increase in most Republic of Moldova cities, except Chisinau and Balti, Briceni and Edinet regions, where “an alarming situation was created”. The document mentions that unsatisfactory results in these regions are caused by the poor activity of local public administration. The Governmental order has also set the enrolment norm for 2006 autumn. 1835 recruits must be enrolled in the National Army, 850 in the Border Guards troops, 825 in other troops, and for partial military service there must be 25 recruits for the National Army and up to 50 for the Border Guards. During November-December 2006 military men that have been enrolled during November-December 2005 will be transferred to the reserve forces of the Armed Forces, and in February-March 2007 military men enrolled in November-December 2006 a partial military service.
