Military Prosecutor's Office investigates soldier death case

The Military Prosecutor's Office ordered an inquiry into the death of the conscript soldier of the military unit No.1001, Corporal Valeriu Moisienko aged 21. According to the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office (PG), the prosecutors verify all the versions possible, including suicide, Info-Prim Neo reports. According to the PG, Valeriu Moisienko was drafted into the army by the Rezina administrative-military division on December 4, 2009. He was doing his military service in Battalion No. 3 of the military unit No. 1001, situated at 31 Testemitanu St in Chisinau. On July 12, the Corporal was to patrol the territory of the Battalion between 19.30 and 22.30. The same evening, at about 23.45, he was found hanged. Eufalia Negreata, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Ambulance Service, has told Info-Prim Neo the soldier was discovered hanging on a rod on the military unit's territory. Fellow soldiers said he had talked on the phone with his girlfriend and then disappeared from the barracks.
