A military parade dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the declaration of the independence of Moldova took place in the Great National Assembly Square. The parade was led by Brigadier General Igor Gorgan. Unlike previous years, military hardware was not used for this anniversary. Due to the health crisis, only special guests had access to the stands.

Military personnel from the Bălți, Cahul and Chișinău garrisons, students from the "Alexandru cel Bun" Military Academy and a group of veterans of the 1992 armed conflict in defense of the integrity and independence of Moldova paraded in the Great National Assembly Square. The parade was attended by employees of the Border Police and employees of other subdivisions of the Ministry of Internal Affairs.

Along with the country's top leadership, the parade was attended by Polish President Andrzej Duda, who arrived in Chișinău yesterday. Due to dense fog, which prevented a timely landing at Chișinău International Airport, Romanian President Klaus Iohannis missed the opening ceremony of the Independence Day celebrations, but managed to arrive right at the start of the parade. Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelesky and Ukrainian Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal arrived when state symbols were honored, before the end of the parade.
