Military men take oath of allegiance

A number of150 military students of the Military Institute “Alexandru cel Bun” swore an oath of allegiance to the motherland on Saturday at a solemn ceremony held at the Institute, Info-Prim Neo reports, quoting a communiqué from the Ministry of Defense.
Attending the ceremony, Minister of Defense Vitalie Vrabie said that the good preparation of the military men is the major task of the Military Institute and that a broad reformation program is implemented in all the components of the Armed Forces. The program is aimed at creating viable institutions able to appropriately fulfill their duties. Multilaterally developed officers for whom the notions of fatherland and honor are the most important values will work in the National Army, the Carabineer Troops and the Border Guard Service.
370 young persons applied to the Military Institute “Alexandru cel Bun” this year, but only 150 were admitted.
Eight military men of the National Army will be participating in the Combined Endeavor 2009 exercise until September 17. They learn to use military information system and technique at international level and study the modern communication systems based on digital technology that are needed to organize video conference. They will be familiarized with the automated process of managing radio frequencies and of administering the exercise.
Combined Endeavor 2009 is held in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It brought together representatives from 37 countries and two organizations - NATO and SEEBRIG. The key goal of the exercise is to achieve a high level of informational interoperability in supporting the multinational contingents in humanitarian, peacekeeping operations and operations to liquidate the consequences of natural disasters.
