A military man, 31, died electrocuted during open-field activities on Friday, January 18. Anatol Proca, coordinating doctor at the Chisinau Emergency Service, told Info-Prim Neo that the only details available to the Service were that the man received the deadly shock on Pietrarilor Street and that the ambulance was called to the Military Policlinic, where the man was apparently taken for CPR.
The power distributor RED Union Fenosa said in a communique that the man was part of a logistic unit that was executing unauthorised works in a power line protection zone. While moving a concrete block with a crane, the workers accidentally uncovered a 6 kV live line.
The same day, an unidentified young woman found in the street with an acute intoxication of unknown origin was taken to the Holy Trinity Hospital. Two street persons, apparently aged about 46-50, were admitted to the Emergency Hospital after suffering general hypothermia.
The number of mumps reports is constantly increasing. Thus, on Friday alone, 41 persons infected with parotitis were hospitalised.
Last day and night, the Emergency Service received 801 calls, responding to 107 cases of acute viral diseases, 42 cases of trauma and 6 strokes.
