What will happen in Ukraine is decisive for Moldova too. That’s why a joint fight against the oligarchs who control the prosecution service, the judiciary and the parliamentary majority is needed, ex-President of Georgia Mikheil Saakashvili stated in the program “Politics” on TV8 channel, IPN reports.

Mikheil Saakashvili said that when the power is coordinated by the oligarchs, the elections are artificial. In the fight against oligarchy, the power is in the hands of the people. “As the oligarchs come to terms with each other, the whole society should find methods of fighting against them,” he stated.

Mikheil Saakashvili noted that the leader of the Democratic Party of Moldova Vlad Plahotniuc and the President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko work together and, even if they say they are against Russia, they cooperate very well with their partners from the Russian Federation. “For Poroshenko, Vladimir Plahotniuc is an example to be followed because he wants to do in Ukraine what Mister Plahotniuc did in Moldova: full control over the power, business and minds of nationals,” stated the former Georgian President.

As to the arrest of ex-Premier Vlad Filat, Mikheil Saakashvili said double standards should not be applied. “In your country, there is now no serious justice for its decisions or the correctness of the prosecution service to be commented on. In Moldova, one oligarch decides everything,” he stated.

According to Mikheil Saakashvili, if Ukraine and Moldova do not solve their problems, all the young people will leave the country and only elderly people will remain.
