The Governor of the Autonomous Territorial Unit of Gagauzia Mihail Formuzal, who heads the Party of Regions, decided to withdraw from the electoral bloc “Moldova’s Choice – the Customs Union”. On the official website of the administration of Gagauzia, it is said that the politician will concentrate his efforts on reducing the criminal attacks aimed at discrediting Gagauzia, IPN reports.
The official communiqué says some of the forces are trying to make Russia look like the country’s main enemy and information about false conspiracy acts is being disseminated. These artificial threats are created in a move to demonize Russia and to distract attention from the poor results achieved by the government of Moldova. Mihail Formuzal asserts these acts are staged by the Security and Information Service and the Democratic Party.
The Governor considers that he should better deal with the protection of Gagauzia.
The bloc “Moldova’s Choice – the Customs Union” also includes the Social Democratic Party and the People’s Movement for the Customs Union.
