Moldova reaffirms its firm commitment to integration into the European Union, considering that this path ensures the country’s prosperity and development, stated Mihai Popșoi, Moldova’s Deputy Prime Minister/Minister of Foreign Affairs, at the GLOBSEC Forum, taking place in Prague.
In a panel discussing hybrid threats from Russia, Popșoi spoke about the major challenges facing Europe, the Black Sea region and Moldova in particular.
In his speech, Mihai Popșoi highlighted the devastating impact of Russia’s war of aggression against Ukraine, which continues to cause loss of human lives and destruction of civilian infrastructure. “The effect of the aggression is also felt on the economy of our country, but thanks to the help of partners from the free world, the Republic of Moldova is becoming more resilient”, declared the deputy prime minister.
Mihai Popșoi also emphasized the need to combat disinformation and manipulation attempts orchestrated by foreign forces on a daily basis. “We will not allow foreign forces to promote their petty interests on the territory of our country. We will continue to make all the necessary efforts for the Republic of Moldova to consolidate its place in the great European family”, the official added.
GLOBSEC is recognized as one of the most important discussion platforms in Europe, aiming to highlight the role of Central and Eastern Europe in maintaining global stability.
