Mihai Godea: Democrats requested Alliance meeting without specifying why

“These are statements of speculative nature”, this how Lib-Dem vice president Mihai Godea described the statements made by Democrat leader Marian Lupu, who told reporters on Wednesday that the Democratic Party (PD) and the Liberal Party (PL) had asked the Liberal-Democrats to convene a meeting of the Alliance in order to discuss the 2011 Budget Bill. “There was no such request from either PD or PL. The Democratic Party did ask for the convocation of the Alliance's Board, but they did not specify what issue was going to be discussed”, said Mihai Godea. Godea went on to add that on Wednesday, at the time when Marian Lupu was making those statements, the Liberal-Democrats had already agreed with Democrat honorary president Dumitru Diacov that such a meeting would be held in the nearest future.
