Mihai Godea changed his mind and will vote for Nicolae Timofti

Mihai Godea changed his position. He decided to take part in the March 16 presidential elections. The decision was taken by the Extraordinary Committee of the Democratic Action Party (PAD). “The alliance can be sure that candidate Nicolae Timofti will get one more vote,” Mihai Godea told the journalists in a press briefing after the AEI’s meeting on March 15, Info-Prim Neo reports. Mihai Godea said that he put forward a series of conditions in the meeting. “The conditions are not new. They concern the legality of the voting process and the main reform objectives set by the Alliance for European Integration in the government program,” said Mihai Godea. He also said that the document they proposed was signed by all the leaders of the alliance. “It’s not a new agreement and it’s not a larger alliance. We remain detached from the ruling alliance. We only needed guarantees and instruments by which to make them fulfill their commitments,” stated the lawmaker, adding that the PAD will not ask for posts as they only want the people in Moldova to live better and have a future. In a press briefing earlier the same day, Mihai Godea said he will not take part in the elections as they are an amoral political game.
