They tried to transform the peaceful April 7 protests against the vote rigging on April 5 into actions aimed at scaring the people, MP representing the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) Mihai Godea said Tuesday, after he was questioned by the prosecutors as a witness in the April events case. “I was in the middle of the events on April 7. I saw that the first five rows of protestors did not include students, but well-prepared young people aged 24 and 25 who spoke mainly Russian and chanted unionist slogans. There were groups consisting of 2-3 provokers who incited the crowd to violence,” Mihai Godea said. He also said that he personally took protesters out of the crowd and yielded them up to the police, but the police officers threw them back into the mass. “The behavior of the police seemed very strange to me. “There were not enough officers to guard the two buildings that had been devastated. They brought a battalion of carbineers, who were not prepared for such actions. Somebody wanted that there were more victims among the police,” Godea said. The MP is sure that the police officers tortured, killed and infringed the rights of the young protesters after April 7 as the PLDM's head office on April 8 and 9 was full of parents who were looking for their children in despair. “On April 7, the regime took revenge on the young people through the agency of the police officers, whose actions were inappropriate and nonprofessional.” Mihai Godea was quizzed as a witness in the April 7 case for the first time.
