Mihai Ghimpu will yield seat of Head of Parliament to Vladimir Voronin

In the first sitting of the new Parliament, Speaker Mihai Ghimpu will give his seat to Vladimir Voronin. By tradition, the first sitting of the legislative body is chaired by the oldest MP, who is the Communist leader this time, Info-Prim Neo reports. Vladimir Voronin is 69 and is several months older than his party colleague Alla Mironic. The youngest Communist MP is Inna Shupak. She is only 26. The oldest among the Liberal MPs is Victor Popa, while the youngest is Valeriu Munteanu. Among the Liberal-Democrat MPs, the oldest is the current Minister of Health Vladimir Hotineanu, while the youngest is the head of the PLDM youth organization Gheorghe Mocanu. The oldest Democrat MP is the Democratic Party's president of honor Dumitru Diacov, while the youngest MPs are Adrian Candu and Vasile Botnari. The PL and PDM will have by two women in Parliament, the PLDM – 4 women, while the PCRM – 12 women. The Central Election Commission has counted 100% of the votes that came in electronic format.
