The agreement on the formation of the ruling alliance will most probably be signed next Monday, July 20, and will be called the Alliance for European Integration-3, the leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said in the program “Fabrika” on Publika TV channel on Friday evening, IPN reports.

“I would like things to go faster. The Alliance is like a home: you first build the walls and then plaster them, which is harder. Today we discussed the disagreements related to the accord. We ultimately overcame them and reached a consensus. It is not so easy as we are three and we represent different platforms. There were moments when we interrupted the talks and returned to them again. The most important thing is to invest the new Government by the end of this month,” said the Liberal leader.

Ghimpu noted that they haven’t yet nominated a candidate for premiership, but agreed the common government mechanism. “We started everything from zero. We decided that the party with the largest number of seats of MP will choose one of the key state posts. Afterward, each party will choose the other key posts, by rotation. All the other portfolios will be distributed equally as we assume equal responsibility before the people. This is a European practice that works well. There is not right of veto. We come to terms. We know that we need a professional and solid Government,” he stated.

In the same connection, Ghimpu noted he is against the party leaders holding the key posts in the state. “This variant can be discussed, but I don’t think it will work. The formation of the alliance and the overcoming of the crises are the most important things now. The costs will be reduced in autumn. It will be very hard without the support of the IMF. The Government should be invested swiftly so that it starts negotiations with the IMF. Only this alliance can return Moldova to life,” he said.
