The Liberal Party (PL) has a number of reasons not to vote for the new Government, the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu said in the talk show “In Depth” on PRO TV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.

Ghimpu reiterated that he would vote separately Iurie Leanca Prime Minister, but he does not like the candidates for the posts of minister. “It will be not a Leanca Government, but a Government of the PDM, PLDM and PCRM. Among the candidates is a person who earlier betrayed our party. Another candidate, who can become minister of defense, pleads for the federalization of the Republic of Moldova. He says that federalization is the only solution to the Transnistrian dispute. We will not vote for such a Government. We will yet see the final list of candidates for posts in the Cabinet,” he stated.

Another reason invoked by Ghimpu for not voting for the Cabinet is the situation created at Banca de Economii. “Where do they steal 13 billion lei from a bank in the middle of the day? The thief is vacationing on the Maldives, while the law enforcement bodies do nothing because they are controlled by the PDM and PLDM,” he said.

The leader of the PL also said that even if they do not admit it, a government coalition between the PDM-PLDM and PCRM was formed. “They formed a coalition that has 63 seats of MP and the PCRM now has the most favorable position. That’s why the Communists put forward all kinds of conditions,” he argued.

In the same program, Mihai Ghimpu accused the PDM of renouncing the partnership with the EU in favor of China. “During the discussions, I heard that they have an agreement or a contract with China. We found out now that they are not ready to do reforms. They will not sign a contract with the IMF or the WB, but will accept the US$2 billion promised by China to Voronin in 2009,” he stated.
