The leader of the Liberal Party Mihai Ghimpu said there is no other way out than forming a new pro-European alliance. He made such a statement after Parliament supported the no-confidence motion against the Strelet Government, IPN reports.
Ghimpu said that nothing else can be done now than sitting again at the negotiating table. “We must discuss, despite all our frustrations and dissatisfaction. What happened today showed that we continue to use the old ‘mind’. When we have another political class, we will be able to discuss the European standards that we want to reach,” he stated.
The Cabinet headed by the Lib-Dem Valeriu Strelet was dismissed by a majority of votes of MP on October 29. The no-confidence motion submitted by the Socialist and Communist lawmakers was also supported by the Democratic lawmakers, by 65 votes overall. The Liberal-Democratic MPs voted against, while the Liberal lawmakers and the unaffiliated MPs of the Leanca group abstained.
