The PLDM must be patient and must take part in the negotiations on the formation of the pro-European alliance, the leader of the PL Mihai Ghimpu said in the talk show “In Depth” on PROTV Chisinau channel, IPN reports.
“They should follow our example. We also went through such a situation. They also wanted to destroy our party and attracted MPs from our party on their side. We were removed from the government. But we accepted to return to the government for the sake of the European integration. For the sake of the alliance, I was patient, but was struggling inside myself,” stated Mihai Ghimpu.
The Liberal leader accused the PLDM of subscribing to the Party of Socialists’ initiative concerning the election of the head of state by the people. “You saw whom they formed an alliance with. They violated the alliance agreement because they didn’t announce that they withdrew from the alliance. The accord provides that none of the component parties can vote for a bill together with other parties than those of the alliance,” said the Liberal heavyweight.
Mihai Ghimpu considers the accusations made against the leader of the PLDM Vlad Filat are reasonable. “If they hadn’t had money, “Caravita” wouldn’t have had that expensive equipment. If joining particular things together, the situation becomes clearer. We must not accuse the prosecution service as it carries out inspections. It is the police that investigate. The Ministry of the Interior was controlled by the PLDM,” he stated.
Ghimpu also accused the Liberal Democratic Party of being connected with the Civic Platform “Dignity and Truth”. “The main proof is the fact that the Ministry of Justice didn’t ask Germany to extradite the Topa brothers, who are behind the Platform. The extradition request was made after the given ministry was taken over by another party,” he said.
The PLDM has recently explained its gesture to support the PSRM’s initiative on the direct election of the head of state this way: 1) The PDM voted the no-confidence motion against the Government lead by Lib-Dem Valeriu Strelet, together with the opposition factions of the PCRM and PSRM, which is against the provisions of the agreement to form the AEI 3 and which actually denounced it; 2) The election of the head of state by direct vote represents an initiative, an electoral promise and a provision of the PLDM’s program and the party resumed their fulfillment now that it does not have obligations deriving from the denounced agreement.
