The Liberal Party will most probably not vote for the amendments to introduce the uninominal vote before the future parliamentary elections, which were proposed to the Election Code, the party’s leader Mihai Ghimpu said in the program “Important” on TVC 21 channel, IPN reports.

“The future parliamentary elections will take place in accordance with the current Election Code,” assured Mihai Ghimpu.

The Liberal leader expressed his conviction that the party he heads will enter the legislative body that will be elected in 2018. “We do not have sins and didn’t make mistakes and didn’t steal the US$1 billion. We are criticized for forming a coalition with the PDM. But this coalition was necessary. Stability was ensured in the county and the European partners smile to us and have confidence in us. Our people started to realize that things go well. I do not believe in polls. I can also order polls where all the Russians and Gagauz people of Moldova would say that they are for the union with Romania,” he stated.

Mihai Ghimpu accused ex-Premier Vlad Filat of the fact that Igor Dodon won the presidential elections. “Dodon’s way to the presidency was paved by Filat, Shor and those who stole the US$1 billion. The people became disappointed and most of them voted for Dodon and actually voted in protest. Dodon also won through the old system. We should not forget that we have yet nostalgic people who want to live as part of Russia,” said the Liberal leader.
